The Teddy Bear was a gift from my mother, the hat was mine. In order to convince the bear to pose for me I had to promise to make a print of him when the painting was complete. Not that my bear is self-centered, but just a bit. The painting has a deeper meaning than just a pact between artist and mode. There is a bear under my hat and I'm sorry to admit, its me. We all have arbitrary dispositions we'd rather keep under our hat.
